Mr. Joe Maxwell (Community R-VI Class of 1975) visited our middle school and high school students yesterday to speak about the Constitution and what it means to be a good citizen. With service as a State Representative, State Senator, and Lieutenant Governor - and now as a lobbyist for small farmers in Washington, DC - Mr. Maxwell shared powerful advice: commit to being your best student, get involved in the political process, vote, and stand up for your beliefs. He loves Community R-VI and the Laddonia community and wants our students to know they can change the world.

We are excited to share that the Missouri Retired Teachers Association Foundation awarded Mrs. Caitlynn Fennewald $500 for her winning grant proposal, titled "Connecting Classrooms to Careers: Authentic STEM Experiences Using Real Scientific Tools." Our district recognizes the importance of introducing a wide variety of careers to our students even before they enter high school, and this grant will allow our middle school students to explore STEM careers they may not have known about before. The grant funds will be used to purchase a Spectroscopy Analysis set. This tool will be used in our middle school classes to explore a variety of STEM careers that use this technology including Astrobiologists, Forensic Physicists & Toxicologists, Biomedical Engineers, and more.

This was one of six grants awarded in Region 4 which is comprised of Audrain, Montgomery, Callaway, Boone and Randolph Counties and 1 of 84 classroom teacher grants in the entire state for 2026. Congratulations Mrs. Fennewald!
